Who are the users?
The users are you— students enrolled in the Faculty of Sciences (
) from the first year of undergraduate studies through the second year of graduate studies during the 2023–2024 academic year.
What is the Faculty of Science Council, and what is its purpose?
The Council of the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier is the body authorized to discuss and propose guidelines regarding financial matters (annual budget, grants, etc.) and academic matters (academic calendar, agreements, etc.).
It elects its Director for a five-year term.
Who serves on the Faculty of Science Council?
The Council consists of 40 voting members:
– 8 student representatives and 8 alternates (USAGERS college) elected for a two-year term,
– 10 university professors and equivalent faculty members (Category A) elected for a four-year term,
– 10 other faculty members, instructors, and equivalent staff (Group B) elected for a four-year term,
– 4 representatives of administrative and technical staff (IATSS college) elected for a 4-year term,
– 4 representatives of local authorities (Occitanie–Pyrénées–Méditerranée Regional Council, Hérault Departmental Council, Occitanie Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Montpellier Métropole) appointed for a four-year term by their respective administrative bodies,
– 3 external figures serving in a personal capacity, nominated by the council members and approved by a vote of the Council. They are elected for a four-year term.
When are the Departmental Council meetings held?
The Council, chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, meets monthly.
Why vote on Tuesday, February 6, and Wednesday, February 7, 2024?
It is important to vote because this election will allow you to elect your representatives to this Council.
There will be 8 elected members and 8 alternates to represent you and participate in the life of the Component over the next four years.
They will be there to help and support you throughout your time at the Faculty.

No need to go anywhere—this election is conducted online: you can do everything from your computer or cell phone! For more information, check your emails from the Faculty (prenom.nom@etu.umontpellier.fr) regularly. Your username, password, and instructions for electronic voting will be sent to you very soon.
