The Hydrocontest:
This is a Hydros Foundation event: the first international student competition on the theme of nautical and maritime energy efficiency. It's an event where the key words are Technology, Sharing, Innovation and Research. It raises awareness among future engineers and architects of a common problem: "TRANSPORT MORE, FASTER, WITH LESS ENERGY". To achieve this, students have to design, build and pilot the most energy-efficient boat.
Why the Hydrocontest:
The aim is to raise awareness among tomorrow's engineers of the need to design efficient marine technologies that can also be applied to industry, and to enable the most promising projects to see the light of day and develop in order to improve the ecological balance of marine transport.
Principle of the competition:
The competition consists of 3 separate races: light boat (20kg charge), heavy boat (200kg charge) and the endurance race (last the longest and do the most laps with a charged battery).
