Newsline from the council meetings of December 1, 13 and 22, 2017

Three UFR Councils, chaired by Mr Hoffmann, Director of the Faculty of Science, were held on December 1, 13 and 22, 2017.

TheExtraordinaryCouncilmeeting of December 1, 2017wasexclusively dedicated to the " Student Plan: accompanying everyone towards success " presented by the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. This national plan, designed to transform the 1st cycle and accompany all students towards success, follows a concertation on the reception and success of students.
The entire teaching community of our UFR was invited to take part in this discussion.

The following items were on the agenda for theBoard meetingof December 13, 2017:

- University of Montpellier (Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Science) and IMT Mines Alès: Creation of a bidiplômant course between 3 Water Science master's courses offered by the University of Montpellier and the engineering degree offered by IMT Mines d'Alès,
- Bilateral application agreement for the award of master's degrees between the USTH (Hanoi-Vietnam) and the University of Montpellier,
- Interpartnership agreement between the Fermat Science association, the University of Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier, the University of Montpellier and the "Maths en Scène" association: pour la diffusion de la culture des Mathématiques en Occitanie/Pyrénées-Méditerranée,
- ChERPAM-IREM : convention de partenariat entre la Faculté des Sciences, l'Institut de Recherche sur l'Enseignement des Mathématiques et l'École Normale Supérieure Lyon (IFé),
- APUM2017: agreement for the use of premises in the Faculty of Science (Physics laboratory in building 20) for the workshops of the Club Dessin/ Peinture of the Association Personnels Université de Montpellier,
- BIO Campus: agreement for the use of premises between the University of Montpellier, the Faculty of Science and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (building 26) for surgical training.

Voting on grant applications for the "Association de Biologie de Montpellier" and the "Env'Agrotech" association.

A debate was initiated on the cost of the UFR Sciences' training offer; the Faculty's project to implement the Student Plan (intake capacity) and the proposed reduction in teaching hours.

 

It was proposed to continue the debate at a forthcoming Extraordinary Council meeting on December 22, during which the 2018 budget framework letter was proposed, amended and then validated by the Council.
