"Let's Do Science" / "CGénial" Academic Finals
On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, the Faculty of Sciences hosted the academic finals of the CGénial and Faites de la Science competitions.
The winner of the “Faites de la Science” Academic Finals is: Collège Antoine Courrière in Cuxac-Cabardès, which will present its project “An Experimental Approach to an Electromagnet” at the national finals in Corte on June 8, 2018.
The winner of the CGénial Academic Finals is: Marcel Pierrel Middle School in Marvejols, which will present its project “NCIS at Marcel Pierrel Middle School” at the finals in Toulouse on May 25, 2018.
These competitions aim to foster students’ interest in scientific experimentation by encouraging them to approach problems with a researcher’s mindset, thereby stimulating their initiative. The objectives of these events are multifaceted:
=> To introduce and raise awareness among middle and high school students about the scientific method, thereby addressing the issue of young people’s disengagement from science studies,
=> To foster a spirit of discovery among adolescents, in the spirit of the “La main à la pâte” initiative,
=> To contribute to universities’ mission of promoting Scientific, Technological, and Industrial Culture (CSTI),
=> Strengthen ties between universities and schools.
