Newsline from the FdS board meeting of March 7, 2018
The UFR council, chaired by Mr Hoffmann, Director of the Faculty of Science, was held on Wednesday March 7, 2018.
The following topical issues were discussed:
=> the snowy episode of February 28. A reminder was issued of the "Plan de Prévention Episodes Cévenols" dated March 18, 2016, specifying instructions in the event of a red or orange alert. The document, sent by the Presidency of the University of Montpellier last autumn, is available on the Établissement website. The measures taken by the component during this episode were also presented.
=> a reminder of the election process for the renewal of the members of the Faculty of Science Council. The creation of scientific departments means that researchers are now attached to these departments, and can no longer vote in teaching components unless they have completed 64 hours of teaching.
The following items were on the agenda:
Vote on agreements
=> a sponsorship agreement with Total to finance the Geosciences Master's degree in Exploration and Reservoir Geology,
=> renewal of the partnership agreement with the Club Emploi Cadre,
=> a partnership agreement between the Mayotte University Training Center and the University of Montpellier,
=> a renewal agreement for the "ADIREM" scientific interest group (IREM network),
=> the provision of premises to the Eugène Pottier- Jean Sibelius elementary school for a performance by the school choir.
Introducing the International Relations Department
An overview of the IR department's activities was presented, including incoming and outgoing mobility, notably Campus France, and assistance in setting up double degrees, agreements and collaborations for the component's teachers and teacher-researchers.
Pedagogy update
The Faculty of Science's 2018-2019 academic calendar for bachelor's and master's degrees has been voted by the Board.
A presentation on the actions linked to the ICTE and digital mission was given, as well as a reminder of the future MUSE 2018 call for projects (next April 21): "Supporting the pedagogical transformation of training courses as part of the development of future MUSE Masters of Excellence".
An update on the student plan was also presented and discussed.
Campus life
The UFR des Sciences will host the academic finals of the "Faites de la Science" and CGénail competitions on Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
