All you need to know about the Olypiades académiques de Mathématiques

The prize-giving ceremony for the Olympiades de Mathématiques will take place on MondayJune 3 at 2pm atthe Faculté des Sciences , in the presence of Madame La Rectrice.

The ceremony is hosted and organized by the university's mathematics department and IREM.

A lecture by AliceCleynens on"Statistics with the help of genetics"and a presentation of mathematical university courses will be given to the students present.

This year's Olympiad in Mathematics took place on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

The Olympiades de Mathématiques is open to all students in the first year of secondary school, whatever their year of study: at both national and academic level, the results and some of the topics are differentiated according to year of study (S and "non-S"). So, even if not all participants are destined for scientific studies, this competition is an opportunity for them to practice the mathematical approach.

The aim of this competition is to :

  • promoting mathematics at school;
  • encourage high school students, especially girls, to take up scientific careers;
  • promote scientific and technological culture ;
  • stimulate students' initiative and taste for research.
