In light of the construction work underway on the Triolet Campus, the Council decided to wait for progress on the projects before making a decision regarding the second semester.

Following simulations conducted by the Faculty’s Examinations Office, the Council approved the schedule for the bachelor’s and master’s programs.

These calendars are available on the Faculty of Science website.

Mr. Richard Arinéro, Academic Director of the Bachelor’s program, presented the audience with an overview of Parcoursup and administrative registration for the start of the 2019 academic year:

  • Reminder regarding capacity: Curie Portal 390 and Monod Portal 680.
  • Applications: approximately 4,800 applications (4,138 accepted, compared to 2,653 in 2018) through the Curie portal, and 5,000 applications (4,486 accepted, compared to 3,761 in 2018) through the Monod portal.
  • The main admission phase began on May 15, 2019. The response period was 5 days until May 20, then 3 days thereafter (in 2018, the period was 7 days). This change, combined with a high rank for the last student admitted (1,900th place for Curie and 2,500th for Monod), allowed for rapid convergence in the first few weeks.
  • The main phase ended on July 19, 2019(September 4, 2018). Applicants were then asked to make a final choice. Capacity has been reached since that date.

At the end of the main phase, withdrawals were continuously filled by drawing from the waiting lists. These lists were exhausted by the end of August for Curie and in early September for Monod. Several dozen candidates were then admitted during the supplementary phase, which ended on September 14.

Among the offers accepted at Curie, there are about 200 students in the “YES IF” category; at Monod, however, due to a configuration error in Parcoursup, there are only about 30 students in the “YES IF” category.

Mr. Alain Hoffmann provided an update on the number of Supplementary Teaching Assignments by academic department. It was noted that each Supplementary Teaching Assignment involves a 64-hour workload and that four such assignments will be allocated to the Science curriculum.
