Building 36: Workshop: “Math with Your Head and Hands”

How can we raise public awareness of the importance of mathematics and highlight its role in all areas of life? Through the exhibition “Why Mathematics?” This exhibition, designed and produced by the Orléans Science Center at the initiative of UNESCO, has been touring the world since 2004.

This highly interactive international exhibition aims to show visitors that mathematics is:

  • interesting, surprising, and useful,
  • accessible to everyone,
  • very much a part of everyday life,
  • that they lead to a wide range of careers,
  • and that they play a vital role in culture, development, and progress.

The IREM, IMAG, and DEM promotion team replicated part of this exhibition and supplemented it with new elements.
