Codige Award: Award for the Best Internship
The IESF-OM/CODIGE Award: A Brief History and Guidelines …
With the exception of Paris, the regional branches of the engineers’ and scientists’ association (formerly URIS) did not award any prizes.
In 1986, the Languedoc-Roussillon delegation (URIS-LR) decided to award the prize for the best internship report to an “engineering student.” It is clear that university scientists were not included. The inclusion of the latter proved to be limited, for many reasons. Things normalized with the creation of Master’s degrees, “Bac+5” qualifications, shared with engineers.
The Conference of Directors of Grandes Écoles (CODIGE) has gradually become involved with the award. It formalized its participation through an initial agreement in 2009. The award is now known as the IESF-OM/CODIGE Award, under the auspices of the Engineers and Scientists of France Occitanie Mediterranean (IESF-OM). It is interesting to note that it remains virtually unique in France in this form (with the exception of Paris).
The selection process remains unchanged: the best final internship reports from engineering students and master’s degree candidates are submitted by the heads of their respective institutions, at the request of IESF-OM; a jury of experts with diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise then selects between one and three reports for recognition, depending on the circumstances.
To participate, simply contact the relevant academic officials (school principals, university department chairs, etc.) to have your nomination for the award approved.
