Job Opening: Department of Languages (Seeking Temporary Instructors)
The Department of Languages (DDL) in the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Montpellier is seeking English-speaking adjunct instructors for the 2021/2022 academic year to teach LANSAD (English for Specialists in Other Disciplines) as well as FLE (French as a Foreign Language). The team consists of about fifteen tenured faculty members and numerous part-time instructors, and offers courses from the bachelor’s to the master’s level, as well as FLE courses for international students.
Responsibilities:
– Lead tutorial sessions under the supervision of tenured faculty members.
– May assist in the development of teaching materials and exam questions.
– Assist in grading assignments.
– Participate in academic coordination activities.
Profile:(for English teachers)
– Bilingual in English and French with an excellent command of linguistics, English-speaking cultures and civilizations, and a particular interest in the academic and professional needs of science students.
– Level 6 degree (Bac +3 and +4 or foreign equivalent) in English.
– Previous teaching experience preferred.
Skills:
– Ability to independently use ICT tools (computers, video, etc.) in the classroom.
– Ability to teach English using a variety of topics.
– Energetic and excellent interpersonal skills.
– Strong passion for teaching and preparing students for exams.
