Open House – February 12, 2022

The Faculty of Sciences will present its academic programs through events and meetings on theTriolet Campus of the University of Montpellier

This event is intended for high school students and their families, college students, people returning to school, and anyone else interested in learning more about the university.

It will allow you to:
– Meet students, faculty, researchers, guidance counselors, tutors, and more…
– Tour labs, lab classrooms, lecture halls, the campus, and more…
– Ask questions of CROUS representatives (about dining, housing, culture, recreation, and more)…
– Discover the latest innovations from researchers by observing experiments and hands-on demonstrations…

To learn more about the educational programs offered, you will have the opportunity to attend presentations throughout the day.

Daytime Activities

  Mechanics:

3D Printing: We invite you to come learn about 3D printing so that you’ll know everything there is to know about it.
Location: Building 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Master's in Wood Science:Come explore the facilities for the Wood Science master's program at the Faculty of Sciences throughout the day
Location: Building 4

Electronics – Electrical Engineering – Automation

*Four small wheeled robots will navigate around a table, avoiding each other. These are the epuck robots that students will learn to use as part of the ROB Master’s program. Each is equipped with two independent wheels, a camera, and eight infrared sensors for obstacle avoidance.

 Physics

* Physics Bachelor’s and Master’s Lab:
“Light: From Colors to Waves” Workshops: lasers, holograms, interference, and rainbows right at your fingertips and within your sight.
Location: Building 12, ground floor, entrance across from the liquid nitrogen tanks, 1:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m.

* FdS Astronomical Observatory, tour of the domes
The Department of Physics invites you to visit its astronomical observatory, which is used by
undergraduate and graduate students for their lab work, particularly in spectroscopy. Weather permitting, you will have the opportunity to safely observe the Sun.
Location: Building 13, 5th floor; access via the central staircase, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
