The DRI invites you to an information session to answer all your questions on February 10, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Triolet Campus (room A36.01).

8th Annual Sherbrooke–Montpellier University Scientific Conference 2022

The University of Montpellier, the University of Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada), and Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3 University have been linked for several years by astrategic partnership. Since 2006, one of the main activities of this Franco-Quebec partnership has been the biennial University Scientific Meetings, held alternately in Montpellier and Sherbrooke*.

In 2022, Montpellier will host the 8th edition of the Rencontres Scientifiques Universitaires, and a delegation from the University of Sherbrooke will be welcomed there**.

The purpose of these meetings is to strengthen and develop research and educational projects by forging close ties between our universities, both in the areas of teaching and research and in the exchange of institutional practices. Over the years and through these meetings, a strong partnership has been built between our universities, and the 2022 edition aims to continue and expand this momentum through scientific conferences, working meetings, and institutional exchanges.

The events will take place across all university campuses in Montpellier (the University of Montpellier and Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3 University) and will include seminars, conferences, meetings, gatherings, and workshops designed to strengthen and develop joint research and training projects, particularly advanced studies.

As of now, the three universities are planning to hold in-person meetings in 2022, from June 8 to 10, 2022.

As is customary, the agenda for the meetings will be based on proposals from the academic communities. These may include follow-ups on topics already discussed at previous meetings, as well as new topics of mutual interest.

The three universities wish to emphasize “new partnerships” at the 2022 event. This reflects a desire to foster new collaborations and themes and/or to include new colleagues and partners, in addition to existing collaborations, which will continue to play a central role in these meetings. The International Relations Offices are available to assist with identifying and connecting with contacts across the Atlantic, if needed.

This aspect of “new partnerships” will also involve a desire to engage academic stakeholders who might be interested in the Rencontres, such as the Institute of the Americas.

We are therefore issuing a call for proposals; please submit your activity proposals by clicking on thefollowing linkby February 15, 2022:Call for Proposals for the Montpellier-Sherbrooke 2022 Conference.
