She will be interviewed by students from UM, and the discussion will be followed by questions from the audience in attendance and those joining via videoconference. This event is open to everyone, and we hope to see many of you there.

His debut novel, selected by France Culture and Télérama, takes an original look at the theme of working in fast food.

A kids’ meal includes a neatly wrapped burger, fries, a drink, sauces, and a toy—it’s a dream come true. Then, a few years later, you’re preparing orders at the drive-thru, wiping down tables, and following managers’ orders: you’re working at a fast-food restaurant. Through two alternating narratives, the narrator of *En salle* explores this gap. On one hand, a childhood marked by the figure of a working-class father. On the other, her twenty years in a fast-food restaurant, where she encounters repetitive motions, a body put to the test, emptiness, and alienation.

Claire Baglinwas born in 1998. *En salle* is her first novel.
