The people of Antiquity revered spices. They were used in worship of the gods and traditionally employed in religious rituals and medicine. They were widely used in pharmacopoeia and perfumes, and cooking was no exception! This lecture invites you to discover these commodities, symbols of extreme luxury and refinement, as coveted as gold.

By Agnès Pesenti, En Route association, dedicated to exploring the world of spices, head of scientific culture and knowledge dissemination at the University of Montpellier.
