At the University of Montpellier, International Women’s Day lasts a whole month, from March 1 to 31! For its 7th edition, “Donner des Elles à l’UM” invites you to work together to advance gender equality through initiatives focused this year on women’s bodies.

As it does every year, March marks the return of initiatives focused on gender equality at UM. Continuing in the same spirit of openness—balancing lightheartedness with seriousness and gravity—the female body will be examined in the professional, personal, and even political spheres. Highlights include a talk by Karen Messing, a specialist in women’s health in the workplace, and a screening of “L’événement,” Audrey Diwan’s powerful film about a young student’s abortion in the 1960s.

Also on the program this year: short films, street art, contemporary dance, a photo exhibition, music, and a selection of materials at the university library.
