Event for professionals, students, and the general public: “How Ignorance Is Created and How to Combat Misinformation,” drawing, among other things, on the practice of scientific documentary filmmaking.

Program

• 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: (Interactive) lecture “What Is Scientific Evidence?”
By Frédéric FEU (CIST), as part of the regional project “Science or Fake News?”
(also open to high school students).

• 1: 30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.: ARTE CAMPUS discussion/master class on the documentary “ La Fabrique de l’ignorance ”
Featuring Franck CUVEILLIER, co-director, along with scientists, communications officers from research organizations, and other professionals grappling with the growing issue of misinformation (including Sophie DELLA MUSSIA, head of the press office and liaison for culture and science outreach, CIRAD Communications Division / Pierrick LABBÉ, University Professor, Montpellier Institute of Evolutionary Sciences (ISEM)).
