Car Tour Day

On November 26, 2025, the Tour Auto event took place at Lycée Joffre in Montpellier!

This event is part of the “Year of Engineering,” an initiative endorsed by the CNRS and the Ministry of Higher Education to raise awareness among young people (middle school, high school, and preparatory classes) about careers in the automotive industry.

Engineering brings together scientific and technological knowledge to design and produce systems that meet society’s needs. It also offers meaningful jobs for those who want to contribute to the energy transition, climate action, and a decarbonized French industrial sector.

To kick things off, the day begins with a coffee reception followed by a briefing for exhibitors, and then groups of students take turns visiting the booths throughout the morning: first the 9th-grade classes, then the BTS, STI2D, NSI, and SI programs. After the lunch break, the afternoon is dedicated to the various CPGE classes, who visit the booths in turn. The event concludes in the late afternoon, with a short 10-minute presentation before each tour.

One highlight of the event was the booth showcasing an electric go-kart test bench, which ran all day long, with the go-kart on display outside and operated by the team!
