USERS(STUDENTS) OF THE FACULTY OF SCIENCE
Why vote?
It is important to vote because this election will allow you to elect your representatives to this Council. Eight representatives and eight alternates will be elected to represent all students in the Faculty of Sciences at Montpellier and participate in the life of the department for the next four years.
They will be there to help and support you throughout your studies at the Faculty.
Where to vote?
The polling station will be located in Building 36, rooms TD 409–412.
Users, what are they?
Users are all students enrolled in the Faculty of Sciences, from L1 to M2, during the 2025-2026 academic year.
What is a UFR?
UFR stands for Unitéde Formationet de Recherche(Training and Research Unit). Formerly, UFRs were called Faculties.
The UFR is administered by the UFR Council, which is composed of elected members, and is headed by the UFR Director.
What is the UFR council? What is its role?
The UFR Council is the body authorized to discuss and propose guidelines relating to financial activities (annual budget, subsidies, etc.) and educational activities (academic calendar, agreements, etc.) for the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier. It elects its Director for a five-year term. The Director chairs the Council, which meets regularly.
Who participates in the UFR council?
The Council is composed of 40 voting members:
– College A: 10 university professors and equivalent, elected for four years,
– College B: 10 other teacher-researchers, teachers, and equivalent staff, elected for four years.
– BIATS College: 4 representatives of administrative and technical staff, elected for 4 years,
– User Council: 8 student representatives and 8 alternates, elected for 2 years,
– External personalities:
* Five representatives of local authorities (Occitanie-Pyrénées-Méditerranée Regional Council, Hérault Departmental Council, Occitanie Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Occitanie Regional Economic, Social and Environmental Council, and Montpellier Métropole) appointed for four years by their respective administrations, * Three external figures in a personal capacity, proposed by the councilors and approved by a vote of the council. They are elected for four years.
When are the departmental council meetings held?
The board meets monthly.
How do we vote?
