Why Vote?

It is important to vote because this election will allow you to elect your representatives to this Council. There will be 8 elected members and 8 alternates who will represent all students in the Montpellier Faculty of Sciences and participate in the life of the Faculty over the next 4 years.

They will be there to help and support you throughout your time at the Faculty.

Where can I vote?

The polling station will be located in Building 36, TD Rooms 409–412

Users—what are they?

Users include all students enrolled in the Faculty of Sciences (
) from L1 through M2 during the 2025–2026 academic year.

What is a UFR?

UFR stands for " Unitéde Formationet de Recherche" (Teaching and Research Unit); UFRs were formerly known as " Facultés" (faculties).

The UFR is administered by the UFR Council, which is composed of elected members, and is headed by the UFR Director.

What is the UFR council? What is its role?

The UFR Council is the body authorized to discuss and propose policies regarding the financial activities (annual budget, grants, etc.) and academic activities (academic calendar, agreements, etc.) of the Montpellier Faculty of Sciences. It elects its Director for a five-year term. The Director chairs the Council, which meets regularly.

Who serves on the UFR council?

The Council consists of 40 voting members:

– College A: 10 university professors and equivalent faculty members, elected for a 4-year term,

– College B: 10 other faculty members, lecturers, and equivalent staff, elected for a 4-year term,

– BIATS Council: 4 representatives of administrative and technical staff, elected for a 4-year term,

– Student Council: 8 student representatives and 8 alternates, elected for a 2-year term,

– External figures:

* 5 representatives of local and regional authorities (Occitanie–Pyrénées–Méditerranée Regional Council, Hérault Departmental Council, the Occitanie Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Occitanie Regional Economic, Social, and Environmental Council, and Montpellier Métropole) appointed for four years by their respective governing bodies, * 3 external figures serving in a personal capacity, nominated by the Council members and approved by a Council vote. They are elected for four years.

When are the UFR meetings held?

The board meets monthly
