Ecoforum: A weather station on the Triolet campus
Between Building 4 and Building 35, a new weather station is being installed on the Triolet campus

This station has been connected to the Infoclimat network to contribute to the climate observatory and make our data available to Météofrance.
Find the link online: https://www.infoclimat.fr/observations-meteo/temps-reel/montpellier-universite-campus-triolet/STATIC0461.html
It also lets you view real-time data on your phone using the Weatherlink app (available on Android or iOS) to check the weather on campus before heading out in the morning
To download the data, we will initially use a field computer. We plan to subsequently save the data to the ECOFORUM project’s NAS and make it available internally within the Faculty of Sciences. To this end, a group of students from the CMI Computer Science bachelor’s program is working with Anne-Muriel Arigon and Annie Chateau to build a database and an interface that will allow us to have our own web application for downloading and viewing the data.
In the coming days, a gas analyzer for monitoring air quality will be added to the array of instruments next to the weather station. Finally, three underground sensors will be installed to continuously monitor root growth, mycorrhization, and soil biodiversity.
For your information, the ECOFORUM project, launched in 2024, aims to:
– Establish a monitoring station on the Triolet campus to track climate, air quality, and biodiversity
– Provide educational resources for research-based training
– Promote learning about the challenges of the green transitionthrough data collection and analysis
– Strengthen the links between research and our teaching
This equipment and new data will be used to enhance and inspire future lessons!
