The School of Science hosted Kevin Mayer for a lecture on human performance

The Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier hosted French decathlon champion Kevin Mayer for a visit.

Balancing social life, training, nutrition, and other demands, Kevin Mayer spoke to us about his remarkable journey in track and field. Thanks to his discipline and impeccable organization, this athlete has shattered records and achieved his goals. 

The challenge of balancing academic studies with elite sports was discussed, particularly the progress and accommodations the university has implemented over the years to provide optimal support for student-athletes and encourage them to achieve their academic and athletic goals without having to sacrifice one for the other. Melick Salabert, a first-year mathematics student and elite fencer, shared his multidisciplinary journey at the FDS.
