Science Bar 2026

The Bar des sciences has become one of Montpellier’s flagship events for scientific culture, offering a participatory, community-driven discussion on all aspects of science once a month from January through June. Throughout the season, scientists are invited to engage in a dialogue where their knowledge and practices are not only shared but also open to discussion.

The season is co-produced by the UM’s scientific outreach departments and its partners: INRAE Occitanie-Montpellier, IRD, Inserm, and the Montpellier Faculty of Sciences.

Human connections, interdisciplinary exchanges, cultural clashes, the sharing of perspectives… Science and technology are increasingly present in our daily lives; discussing them is a democratic act, and there’s no better place than a bar to start the conversation.
