Erasmus+ "One Health" Blended Intensive Program
An immersive international experience at the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier
From June 1 to 10, 2026, the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Montpellier hosted an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (BIP) focused on the One Health theme, bringing together students and faculty from the following European universities: Abo Akademy (Finland), Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest (Hungary), Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași (Romania), University of Hamburg (Germany), Democritus University of Thrace (Greece), and University of Helsinki (Finland).
A rich and interdisciplinary academic program
At the heart of this BIP was a rigorous academic program that combined lectures, visits to research facilities, and hands-on activities. Participants were thus able to explore several key areas of current research:
- Immunotherapies in oncology and recent innovations in this field
- plant–microorganism interactions and their role in ecosystems
- The virology of emerging viruses and integrated surveillance approaches
- issues related to renewable carbon, energy, and sustainable food systems
An in-depth look at research facilities
The program also provided participants with exclusive access to several state-of-the-art research platforms:
- Montpellier Cancer Research Institute (IRCM)
- plant science platforms
- CEMIPAI platform dedicated to infectious agents
- biomedical imaging facilities (MRI)
- IATE platform on natural resources
Exploring the region and its cultural aspects
Beyond the academic aspects, participants also had the opportunity to explore the region and its unique features:
- Visit to the Seaquarium in Le Grau-du-Roi
- Exploring a local winery
- trip to the Sigean African Wildlife Park
- guided tour of Montpellier
- Exploring Scientific Heritage (The Apothecary of the School of Pharmacy)
It fully reflects the Faculty of Science’s commitment to global health and sustainability issues, as well as to the development of innovative international programs.
