Can I take my classes when the school is closed?   

The organization of teaching will be adapted during the period when the school is closed to students. These adjustments will be made progressively during the week of March 16 to 23.

Students can follow the courses remotely, in particular on the Moodle platform, according to their normal timetable, in interaction with their teachers. The training program will be adapted on a case-by-case basis, according to the constraints of each training course. You will receive information on these adaptations in due course.

How will the exams work?        

Adaptations will be made to continuous assessment tests and advance exams (substitution tests, distance tests, etc.). These adaptations will be decided on a case-by-case basis by your training supervisors and the directors of the training components. You will receive information on these adaptations in due course. Concerning the final exams (session 1 of semester 2 and make-up exams): for the time being, they will continue to take place under the conditions and on the dates scheduled. Adjustments will be made to take account of lessons that cannot be completed.

Can I attend courses during shutdown?

The teaching organization is adapted to the period when students are closed. This adaptation will be carried out gradually over the week from March 16 to 23.

Students can follow the lessons from a distance, in particular on the Moodle platform, according to their normal timetable, in interaction with their teachers. I am currently doing an internship or my internship began before March 13?

Current internships are not in question: the student intern must comply with the instructions of the host country (including France), his or her company or host organization, which is not subject to closure.

Telecommuting is possible and should be encouraged. It is the student's responsibility to check that he or she has insurance coverage at home or at the telecommuting location.

If the internship is interrupted by the host organization, the student must inform his or her internship tutor, who will work with the student to set up an adapted assessment procedure. Proof of this can be provided on request to -------------.

 In the case of internships abroad, whatever the country, it will be easier to interrupt the internship at the student's request.

Internship abroad starting March 16 or later?               

Any departure abroad is interrupted, regardless of the country of destination (including Luxembourg and Switzerland). If teleworking is proposed by the host organization, it is possible to implement the internship, but the internship tutor must be informed in order to adapt the internship content accordingly. It is the student's responsibility to check that he/she has insurance covering him/her at home or at the telecommuting location.

If the student is already in the destination country :

It complies with the rules in force in the host country and the host organization.

Whatever the country, it must be made easier for students to interrupt their internship at their own request.

If the course is interrupted, proof can be provided on request to ------------.

If necessary, the duration, content and assessment of the course can be adapted.

Internships in France starting on or after March 16 (inclusive): what instructions do I need to follow?

If telecommuting is proposed by the host organization, it is now possible to implement it, but the internship tutor must be informed in order to adapt the internship content accordingly. It is the student's responsibility to make sure that he or she is covered by insurance at home or at the telecommuting location.

If necessary, the duration, content and assessment of the course can be adapted.

Can I send my internship agreement electronically to the University of Montpellier for signature? If so, to whom?            

Internship agreements can be sent electronically, for signature by the school, to your training department, which will provide you with the e-mail address to use.

Can I send my internship agreement electronically for signature by the University of Montpellier? If yes, to whom?

Internship agreements may be sent, for signature by the establishment, electronically to your training component, which will communicate the email address to be used.

For apprenticeship students      

  • CFAs will be closed from Monday March 16;
  • In-company activities are maintained under the conditions laid down by the company (normal activity or partial activity); if possible, teleworking should be preferred;
  • CFAs are encouraged to use distance learning, and the university will keep apprenticeship students informed of how to access these courses;
  • Teaching staff are encouraged to provide distance learning as much as possible. The relevant information on these courses will be sent directly to you by the components.

 

For students on professionalization contracts              

  • In-company activities are maintained under the conditions laid down by the company (normal activity or partial activity); if possible, teleworking should be preferred;

For continuing education students

Can foreign students at UL return to their country of origin?

Foreign students who so request are allowed to return to their country of origin.

 For this purpose, students should contact ----------- and inform the International Relations correspondent at their host institution.

 I'm a student at the University of Montpellier currently on a work placement abroad. What should I do?

Students wishing to stay on in another country can do so in accordance with the host university's recommendations. Some institutions are closed, but offer distance learning courses.

Students who are worried about returning to France are also allowed to do so. They must inform the International Relations Correspondent at their Montpellier University course.

If I return before the end of my international mobility period due to the health situation, will I lose my mobility grant?

University of Montpellier students in receipt of a mobility grant should contact the International Relations Correspondent in their department, so that the latter can inform the International Relations Department, which will inform the student of the measures available.

If the student is enrolled at an international university, he or she should contact the International Relations department at your home institution.


Can foreign students currently at UM return to their home countries?

Foreign students who request it are allowed to travel to their country of origin.

If this is not possible, administrative staff can request a "miscellaneous absence credit" for the working week;

Wherever possible, teachers are encouraged to use distance learning to deliver courses (with the exception of specific practical and practical work).

The university is closed to the student public, can I come and work on UM premises?

Staff including doctoral students from the University are invited to stay at their home, except in the case of staff whose presence is necessary to maintain the essential activities of the establishment. These staff will be contacted quickly by their line manager.

 

What should I do if I stay at home?

Telework is deployed as much as possible and necessary:

  • BIATSS staff can ask a " mission " (in the working time management software) with a comment " remote work " in order to work from home, if the technical conditions and their profession allow it,
  • Failing this, the administrative staff can ask for "absences from various credit-days" for the working week;
  • For the delivery of lessons, teachers must as far as possible (excluding practical work and tutorials) use distance courses.

All missions and business trips are now prohibited, both abroad and at home, except in special cases necessitated by the Business Continuity Plan at the level of the establishment and its components.

Commuting to and from work now only concerns staff mobilized as part of the Business Continuity Plan.
