Can I continue taking my classes during the closure period?   

The organization of classes will be adapted during the period of closure to students. This adaptation will be implemented gradually during the week of March 16 to 23.

Students can follow lessons remotely, particularly on the Moodle platform, according to their normal schedule, interacting with their teachers. The training program will be adapted on a case-by-case basis, depending on the constraints of each training course. You will receive information about these adaptations in due course.

How will the exams be conducted?        

With regard to continuous assessment tests and early exams, adjustments will be made (substitute tests, remote tests, etc.). These adjustments will be decided on a case-by-case basis by your course leaders and the directors of the course components. You will receive information about these adjustments in due course. With regard to final exams (session 1 of semester 2 and resit session): these will continue to be held as planned and on the scheduled dates for the time being. Adjustments will be made to take into account any teaching that has not been possible to deliver.

Can I attend classes during the shutdown?

All trips abroad are suspended, regardless of the destination country (including Luxembourg and Switzerland). If teleworking is offered by the host organization, it is possible to carry out the internship, but the internship supervisor must be notified so that the content of the internship can be adjusted accordingly. It is the student's responsibility to check that they have insurance covering them at home or at their teleworking location.

If the student is already in the destination country:

Internship agreements can be sent electronically to your training department for signature by the institution. Your training department will provide you with the email address to use.

Students in an internship or work-study program (current or future) at the University of Montpellier are subject to the rules in force applying at the establishment.

Am I currently in an internship or did my internship start before March 13 inclusive?

  • The CFA will be closed from Monday, March 16;

  • Apprenticeship training centers are encouraged to use distance learning, and the university will keep apprenticeship students informed about how to access these courses.

For students on professional training contracts              

  • Business activities are maintained under the conditions specified by the company (normal or partial activity); where possible, teleworking should be prioritized.

Can international students enrolled at UL return to their home countries?              

Foreign students who request it are authorized to return to their country of origin.

 To this end, these students must contact ——————————- and notify the International Relations correspondent at their host institution.

 I am a student at the University of Montpellier currently studying abroad. What should I do?

Students who wish to remain abroad may do so by following the recommendations of their host university. Some institutions are closed but offer distance learning options.

Students who feel anxious and wish to return to France are also permitted to do so. They must inform the International Relations Coordinator for their department at the University of Montpellier.

If I return home before the end of my international mobility period due to the health situation, will I lose my mobility grant?

Students at the University of Montpellier who receive a mobility grant must contact the International Relations Coordinator for their department so that they can inform the International Relations Office, which will then inform the student of the measures in place.

If the student is enrolled at an international university, they must contact the International Relations department at their home institution.


Can foreign students currently at UM return to their home countries?

The university is closed to students. Can I come and work on UM premises?

Staff, including doctoral students from the University, are invited to stay at home, except in the case of staff whose presence is necessary to maintain the essential activities of the establishment. These staff members will be contacted promptly by their line manager.

 

What should I do if I stay at home?

Telework is deployed as much as possible and necessary:

  • BIATSS staff can request a "mission" (in the working time management software) with a comment "remote work" in order to work from home, if the technical conditions and their profession allow it.
  • Failing this, the administrative staff can request "absences from various credit days" for the working week;
  • For the delivery of lessons, teachers must as far as possible (excluding practical work and tutorials) use distance courses.

All business trips and travel are now prohibited, both abroad and within the country, except in specific cases deemed necessary by the Business Continuity Plan at the level of the institution and its components.

Commuting between home and work now only applies to personnel mobilized as part of the Business Continuity Plan.
