AATUM
(Aquarium and Terrarium Association of the University of Montpellier)
AATUM (the University of Montpellier Aquarium and Terrarium Association) is an organization founded in 1990 whose main goal is to introduce the fields of aquarium and terrarium keeping to anyone interested. To this end, we have a space in Building 3 where all of our residents are housed, ranging from simple woodlice to snakes, including turtles, axolotls, and even blue-tongued skinks.

AdNatura
National Ecology and Biodiversity Fair
The Salon de l’Ecologie (SdE) is a nonprofit association established under the French Law of 1901 that has been in existence since 2009. It is composed of second-year students in the “Environmental and Biodiversity Management” master’s program at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Montpellier. Each year, it organizes AdNatura, an event that brings together, introduces, and showcases all stakeholders in the ecology and biodiversity professional sector through exhibits, conferences, roundtables, workshops, business meetings, and recruitment sessions.

Wings
(Improving Knowledge and Protecting Sharks and Skates in the Mediterranean)
The AILERONS association works to improve understanding of and protect Mediterranean sharks and rays. The current lack of knowledge and the negative perception of these species are major obstacles to the implementation of concrete management measures or plans. Yet Mediterranean shark and ray populations have never been more threatened! Composed of a multidisciplinary team of enthusiasts, students, and scientists, AILERONS voluntarily carries out various scientific, educational, and citizen science projects.

ABM
(Montpellier Biology Association)
The ABM’s objectives are to provide services and goods to students in the Faculty of Sciences, as well as to any other individuals, whether or not they are members of the association; to defend the material and moral interests of these individuals; to foster a vibrant campus life in the spirit and traditions of student life; and to prevent physical and moral risks within the student community. Its means of action include, in particular: festive, cultural, and sociocultural events; participation in various faculty and university councils; the lending of course materials; and the organization of tutoring for Biology courses.

AGM
(Montpellier Geosciences Student Association)
The Montpellier Geosciences Association (AGM) is an organization dedicated to bringing together students in the Bachelor’s program in Earth and Water Sciences. If you’re passionate about geology or simply want to learn more—even if you’re studying in a different field—you’re also welcome to join us. We provide geology equipment such as magnifying glasses, hammers, and field notebooks. Tutoring and mineralogy field trips are also part of our program, whenever possible and depending on the availability of interested participants.

(Neuroscience Association of the University of Montpellier)
The University of Montpellier Neuroscience Association (ANSUM) is led by second-year students in the Master’s program in Neuroscience. It is supported by first-year students in this program, as well as many other students, faculty members, and researchers who are passionate about exploring this discipline. The association’s goal is to foster cohesion within the Master’s in Neuroscience program and, more broadly, within the Master’s in Biology and Health program, through various inter-program events. The association also aims to promote neuroscience within the university by organizing conferences on neuroscience.

The BDE Sciences Montpellier is a student organization dedicated to energizing campus life. We are also committed to combating social isolation by fostering a sense of community among students through various events.

BIOTRACE
BIOTRACE represents and promotes the IBION-Tec program to students in other degree programs and to scientific researchers. In addition, the annual scientific conference organized by IBION-Tec students, with the support of Mr. Christian JAY-ALLEMAND, aims to raise awareness among a broader audience of biotechnological advances dedicated to innovation in various fields related to life sciences. The scientific committee, composed of experts and renewed annually based on the event’s themes, contributes to the success of this event.

Carabes
(Association Committee for Applied Research on Ecosystem Biodiversity)
CARABES was founded in 2016 by students in the EcoSystèmeS track of the BEE Master’s program—Biodiversity, Ecology, Evolution—at the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier. It was born out of the students’ desire to promote ecological research by fostering collaboration and communication among students, researchers, and the general public. Its goal is to organize field trips to teach participants how to describe ecosystems and their functioning, as well as to host conferences on research topics that are widely discussed today.

EBIM
The ÉBiM association is affiliated with the bioinformatics master’s program at the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier. Its goal is to foster cohesion among the various students in the master’s program by organizing extracurricular events, support groups, tutoring sessions, and more. It also helps organize the Montpellier Omics Days, a scientific conference on a bioinformatics topic held annually at the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier.

Human Sciences
Humanisciences is a nonprofit humanitarian organization composed of students from the University of Montpellier (science, humanities, law, and economics) that advocates for access to education for all and aims to raise awareness and educate people of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds around the world on scientific topics. The association’s goals are to share scientific knowledge through the organization of engaging workshops; to help students develop individual skills such as attention, curiosity, and imagination, as well as listening and teamwork; and to foster intercultural exchange regarding the knowledge gained with students from different countries through joint projects and pen-pal programs, thereby opening their minds to diversity. Renovating school facilities that are in poor condition to improve learning conditions for the children.

(Student Association for Board Games and Role-Playing Games)
The LICORNES association is an organization dedicated to organizing spaces and events centered around the world of games. With a large game library located right inside the student center on the Triolet campus, we are open every Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. We also support student projects that could benefit from our expertise.

GNAUM (the University of Montpellier Naturalist Group) is a student organization dedicated to discovering, protecting, and raising awareness about biodiversity. Through nature outings, lectures, workshops, and events such as the 24 Hours of Biodiversity, we offer students and nature enthusiasts the opportunity to explore and better understand the living world around us. MAGNUS is a game-design organization on a human scale: escape games, scavenger hunts, murder mystery parties, and more. It also organizes tabletop role-playing games.

Midfielders
(Association for Science Communication in Montpellier)
Medios is a student organization led by students in the B2E Master’s program, MédiACCES track (Mediation, Accessibility, Communication, Culture, and Knowledge Engagement). Its mission is to make science accessible to everyone, regardless of age, level of knowledge, or sociocultural background. The association’s main objective is to build bridges between the scientific world and society by promoting science communication as a tool for transmission, sharing, and dialogue. To this end, we design and implement a wide variety of projects: interactive booths, educational posters, fun activities, exhibitions, and public outreach events. Medios operates in numerous settings—including schools, festivals, museums, and public spaces—with the goal of sparking curiosity, wonder, and reflection about science, while promoting inclusion and critical thinking.

META Cancero
Our association aims to build connections between current and new students in the Master’s program in Cancer Biology at Montpellier by organizing events that bring people together to meet, exchange ideas, and share experiences. Through these events, we foster cohesion, mutual support, and scientific enrichment. The association was founded in 2019.

MER Master's Degree
(Experimental and Regenerative Medicine)
This association brings together all students in the MER Master’s program; we organize various events, the main one being MER Day. This event is dedicated to research: over the course of the day, various researchers and faculty members share their research on a range of topics, with a particular focus on physiology and neuroscience. In addition, we work closely with other master’s programs, such as the Neuroscience and Oncology programs, with which we organize competitions (the different master’s programs compete against each other for a day in various athletic and intellectual challenges).

Narwhal
(LGBT+ Association)
The Narval-UM association aims to improve the quality of life for students and staff who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and more (LGBT+) or who identify with these communities. It also promotes initiatives and events that advance equal rights for all people, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity, and works to combat the isolation of LGBT+ individuals and instances of discrimination against them.

SCRIBES
(Creative Writing Student Association)
SCRIBES is a creative writing club founded in 2023. We host writing workshops every other Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Room 207 of Building 5 at the Faculty of Sciences. We write on a variety of topics and discuss our work in a supportive environment, recognizing that everyone has their own unique writing style. In addition, we participate each year in events such as meetings with authors as part of the Student Novel Prize, or writing pieces based on the annual theme of “Boutographies”—
, a photography festival in Montpellier where these texts are displayed. In short, whether you’re just starting out, an aspiring comedian, a budding novelist, a poet in your spare time, or a worthy heir to Victor Hugo, the Scribes will be delighted to welcome you!

(An association for students in the GER master's program at the Faculty of Sciences)
The Montpellier Student Chapter (SCM) brings together current and former students of the Master’s program in Exploration and Reservoir Geology (GER). Members are committed to promoting geology to the general public and fostering strong ties with professionals in the georesources sector! In particular, they organize geosciences outreach activities for middle and high school students, as well as for seniors.

(Amateur Theater at the University of Science and Technology)
Its goal is to enable all students from any higher education background to discover and practice theater in various forms, in a free and open manner, with no prerequisites. For more than twenty years, TAUST has offered as many people as possible the opportunity to get started in theater and discover the dramatic arts through more than 150 productions created since the beginning of this journey. Based on the principles of enthusiasm and commitment, the association welcomes any student eager to participate in theater, regardless of skill level or experience.

ACES is an association composed of students in the ICAP Cosmetics master’s program at the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier. Its role is to serve as a bridge between the business world and the education provided by the University of Montpellier. The association’s goal is to facilitate an exchange between companies and students on topics such as new market developments, the opportunity to raise funds to attend various cosmetics trade shows, and to help students stay up to date on regulatory changes.

The AsTiCot association is the student organization for the Master’s program in Digital Health Sciences. To this end, a system for sharing course materials and past exam questions has been set up. In addition, AsTiCot organizes orientation weekends and social events.

(IEGB Program Students and Alumni Association)
Its purpose is to create a network for exchange between students (first- and second-year) and alumni, as well as to track the career paths of IEGB alumni. Its goal is to represent and promote the program to high school students, college students, and professionals.

(Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and Automation Group in Robotics and Space)
To provide students at the University of Montpellier with access to facilities and tools that enable them to carry out projects.
Our objectives: To introduce students to the worlds of electronics, robotics, and space; to give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world projects; to design and carry out projects from start to finish related to electronics, robotics, and/or space; to propose and support club or personal projects; to welcome and introduce students from diverse backgrounds—such as mechanical engineering, biology, computer science, and environmental studies—to electronics and embedded system programming.

(Association of Mahoran Students in Montpellier)
The Association of Mahoran Students in Montpellier (A.E.M.M.) was founded in November 1993. The idea behind the association arose from the initiative of ambitious Mahoran students who were concerned about the challenges faced by their peers and committed to their academic success. Its mission is to support Mahoran students in their studies and to promote Mahoran culture.
Our values—success for all, solidarity, and accountability—are guided by our motto, “simply a school of life,” which means that community life is a place to experiment with the responsibilities and good habits that are essential to success in life.
The A.E.M.M. aims to be an organization that supports the integration of new arrivals; a bridge that fosters solidarity among students from Mayotte. It focuses primarily on issues related to welcoming and supporting students.

OSUM
(Montpellier University Symphony Orchestra)
Founded in 1991 by René VACHER, the Montpellier University Symphony Orchestra is an amateur orchestra composed of approximately 60 musicians: students, faculty, researchers, as well as amateur musicians from outside the academic community.
This orchestra is dedicated to promoting classical music within universities: it performs at official ceremonies and festivals and gives numerous concerts in the city and throughout the region.
OSUM’s goal is to balance the demanding work required to deliver high-quality performances with a warm and relaxed atmosphere that reflects the joy of making music together.

Mozaïk Overseas
(A wide range of activities made possible by our existing partnerships: traditional dance, culinary arts, music, professional workshops on job search and internships, etc.)
Mozaïk Outre-Mer is made up mainly of people who have settled permanently in Occitanie, but also includes students, adults on temporary assignments, business owners...etc. In fact, we meet many professionals from the overseas territories who have made their home in mainland France and are eager to help those in need—whether they are from the overseas territories, mainland France, or elsewhere. This choice is made with a view toward bringing people together, fostering exchange, and sharing experiences that combine both volunteer work and celebrations.
