Presentation of the IT Department's training offer

As part of the new accreditation process to be launched at the start of the new academic year, the Computer Science Department of the Faculty of Science ofThe University of Montpellier offers a range of computer science courses up to baccalaureate + 5 years in professional and research-oriented fields.

At the start of the 2021 academic year, two bachelor's degrees will be offered:

=>TheBachelor's degree in Computer Science, which can be entered directly from L1 through the Computer Science portal, provides students with a general education in computer science, covering both the theoretical and fundamental aspects, as well as the applied and practical aspects of this discipline.

=>Thedouble degree in mathematics and computer science enables youto develop a dual culture of mathematics and computer science.

For more information on the Computer Science and Mathematics - Computer Science bachelor's degrees, please visit our website: https://informatique-fds.edu.umontpellier.fr/etudiants/offre-de-formation-licence/

At Master level, we offer a Master's degree in Computer Science with 5 specific courses, as well as 3 transdisciplinary Master's degrees.

=> Master's degree in Computer Science
The Master's degree in Computer Science offers five clearly identified career paths with undifferentiated research and professional goals:
1. Algorithms (ALGO),
2. Software Engineering (GL),
3. Imagine,
4. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (IASD),
5. Competency Integration (ICo).

These five tracks are designed to train IT managers with skills in architecture, software and information systems design, data management and exploitation, combinatorial modeling and optimization, web and network technologies, image processing (especially 3D), and language and natural language processing.
The Master's in Computer Science is compatible with the Master's in Management of Technology and Science co-diploma offered by the IAE, meaning that students can take both Master's degrees (Computer Science and Management of Technology and Science) after two years of study.
The second year of the Master's in Computer Science is offered on a sandwich course basis, via professionalization or apprenticeship contracts.
The Master's in Computer Science has a total enrolment of 320 students.

In addition, 4 of the Master's courses in Computer Science (ALGO, GL, IASD, Imagine) are available as part of the CMI curriculum. The Master of Computer Science Engineering (CMI) is a demanding, reinforced 5-year course that complements the Bachelor of Computer Science - Master of Computer Science cycle by adding specificTU . The CMI has been developed as a complementary model for training in engineering professions through a five-year diploma course leading to the title of Master in Engineering, corresponding to the international Master of Engineering model. The CMI label guarantees a coherent and demanding university training program for expert engineers. Upon completion of the CMI Informatique, graduates obtain a Master of Management from the Institut d'Administration des Entreprises (IAE), the Figure network label, as well as a university diploma (D.U.) in the Master of Engineering - Computer Science curriculum. The CMI Informatique is open to Master 2 students on a sandwich course:https://informatique-fds.edu.umontpellier.fr/cmi-informatique-cursus-master-en-ingenierie/

=> Master MEEF NSI-SNT
The Faculty of Science at the University of Montpellier, in partnership with the Faculty of Education and under the aegis of the ESPE, is organizing a preparatory course for the CAPES in computer science (CAPES NSI-SNT) as part of the Master MEEF (teaching professions).
As part of this program, the MEEF curriculum prepares students for the teaching profession by alternating between specific theoretical courses linked to teaching disciplines (IT) and pedagogy, common themes structured around the values of the republic, practical training courses and preparation for competitive examinations (oral and written examinations in specific disciplines, etc.).
Teaching is a demanding profession, requiring training based on research and rooted in the profession itself, and based on a principle of alternation: university courses - both disciplinary and didactic, as well as teaching pedagogy - are linked to internships. Training also includes the development of foreign language skills.

=> the Bioinformatics master's degree
The Bioinformatics master's degree enables students to acquire multidisciplinary knowledge in the field of bioinformatics, the analysis of data from living organisms (statistics, algorithmic processing, data mining), and the design and programming of methods and tools for processing this type of data. At the start of the 2021 academic year, it will replace the Bioinformatics, Knowledge and Data pathway of the Sciences et Numériques pour la Santé master's degree. Whether you hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, biology or bioinformatics, or an equivalent diploma, don't hesitate to apply. The Master's program is also available through continuing education and apprenticeships. The Bioinformatics master's program welcomes around 60 students.

=> the Geomatics master's degree
The Geomatics master's degree enables students to master the methods and tools of geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing image analysis, to represent and interpret territorial and environmental data.
