The association: Brin de forêt (Master BioGET)
Brin de Forêt isan association whose ambition is to organizescientific events oncurrent issuesin ecology andbiodiversity protection. This association facilitates the creation of a network for exchange betweenresearchers workingatthe national and international levels, students, and people with a general interest in ecological issues. By bringing together the general public, researchers, professionals, and students, we aim to promotethe dissemination of knowledge aboutecology andthe place of humans inthe ecosystem.
The association is made up of studentsfrom the BioGET(Plant Biodiversity and Management of Tropical Ecosystems)Master's program at the University of Montpellier. Each year, this Master's program is responsible for organizing a conference on a topical issue in the field oftropical plant ecology.
TheBrin de Forêtassociation was created in 2014 to organize a symposium on"Payments for Environmental Services." In 2016, the symposium focused on the themeof "Climate Change and its Impact on Tropical Ecosystems." The following year, it focused on the themeof "Biodiversity erosion." Last year, it was"Ecological engineering in the tropics."And in 2019, it will focuson Ethnobotany: plants and people, destinies linked in the tropics.
2019 edition
True to its values, the Brin de Forêt association will host a scientific conference in January 2019 that will highlight the biodiversity of tropical environments and the place of humans in these environments. It will be an opportunity to discuss and discover the topicof ethnobotany!
Plants and People: Intertwined Destinies in the Tropics
