The association: Brin de forêt (Master BioGET)

Brin de Forêt isan association whose ambition is to organizescientificevents on current issues in ecologyandbiodiversity protection. The association creates a network for exchanges between researchersworking at national and international levels, studentsand people with a general interest in ecological issues. By bringing together the general public, researchers, professionals and students, we aim to promote the disseminationof knowledge relating toecology andman'splaceinthe ecosystem.

The association is made up of students from theBioGET(Plant Biodiversity and Management of Tropical Ecosystems) Master's program at the University of Montpellier. Each year, this Master's program organizes a conference on a topical issue intropical plant ecology.

Thus, the Brin de Forêt association was created in 2014 to organize the colloquium on"Payments for Environmental Services". In 2016, the conference focused on"Climate change and its impacts on tropical ecosystems". The following year, the theme was"Biodiversity erosion". Last year, it was"Ecological engineering in the tropics", and in 2019, it will focus on"Ethnobotany: plants and people, linked destinies in the tropics".

2019 Edition

True to its values, the Brin de Forêt association will be organizing a scientific symposium next January (2019), highlighting the biodiversity of tropical environments and the place of Man in these environments. An opportunity to discuss/discover the themeof Ethnobotany!
