Reorientation at the Montpellier Faculty of Science
You can apply for a reorientation if :
=> You are a student registered with the Faculty of Science in a Licence 2, Licence 3 or Master 2 programme.
=> You are enrolled in a 1st or 2nd year CPGE at a lycée under agreement with the Faculty of Science (see below).

Step 1: Your application for reorientation
1/ Composition of the application (regardless of your current situation) :
- A CV describing your post-baccalaureate career in particular, and giving your contact details (address, phone number, e-mail...).
- A letter of motivation explaining your choice of reorientation, clearly indicating the field, semester and, if applicable, course in which you wish to enrol.
- The completed "Reorientation File" form
To help you make your choice, here are the range of courses offered by the Faculty of Science
- Copy of baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate transcripts
-A request for validation of prior learning (see useful documents): You may have acquired one or more TU during this odd-numbered semester at your current institution; it is possible to request equivalence between the courses you have taken and those offered in the course you are applying for
In this case, you must complete a request for validation of prior learning, which will be examined by the teacher in charge.
- Copies of diplomas/certificates relevant to this application
- Any documents enabling the commission to assess the nature and level of the studies for which you are applying (program, diploma supplement, certificate of credit, etc.).
For CPGE students with dual enrolment at the FdS (lycées conventionnés)
Please send only the reorientation file and the form requesting validation of prior learning.
2/ Submission of application from: November 18
PLEASE NOTE: Applications can only be sent by e-mail. All documents must be received by the Faculty of Science no later thanDecember 18 at: fds.reorientation@umontpellier.fr
Step 2: Your application is accepted
You are a student at a CPGE with a special agreement (Joffre, F. Bazille, Mermoz, N-D La Merci, Daudet, Joliot Curie).
You must:
- Contact the Registrar's Office of your current school to request cancellation of your administrative registration
- Your pedagogical registration will be carried out by the Registrar's Office of the Faculty of Science with reference to the file you have previously completed.
If you are already a student of the Faculty of Science
- The administrative registration department will modify your enrolment
- The Faculty of Science's enrolment department will update your pedagogical enrolment with reference to the file you have previously completed.
The calendar
Application deadline : December 18
You will be informed by e-mail, once the pedagogical decision has been taken:
a) Acceptance
b) Refusal
c) Acceptance subject to conditions (e.g. pending results).
Courses for the second semester of the Licence will start at the Faculty of Science in January (see university calendar).
