The Path to a Degree at the Faculty of Sciences
The path to a degree: earning a degree is no walk in the park!
You have just finished your studies and are eagerly looking forward to finally holding your diploma in your hands—the true culmination of your efforts throughout your college career.
We're going to explain why you'll need to wait a few months after you finish your studies to receive your diploma.
Once the examination reports from the degree examination committees for Session 2 have been approved—usually between July and mid-October—your future degree is reviewed and, if necessary, corrected by the Degree Office (regulatory checks, civil status, etc.) before it is issued.
Your diploma is then entered into a tracking database to ensure full traceability before being forwarded for verification and signatures:
– To the Office of the President of the University of Montpellier
– To partner institutions for jointly accredited programs (Montpellier SupAgro, AgroParisTech, Paul-Valéry University, etc.)
– To the Montpellier Regional Education Office
If an anomaly is detected during these various verification phases, the diploma must be flagged as anomalous and reissued so that it can undergo all verification phases again.
The entire verification process prior to signatures by the President of the University of Montpellier, the heads of any partner institutions, and the Regional Education Director takes approximately 4 to 6 months. This may seem a bit long, but it ensures that you will receive a high-quality degree.
So thank you for your patience!
