The path to a degree at the Faculty of Science

The path to a degree: getting a degree isn't always smooth sailing!

You have just completed your studies and are eagerly awaiting the moment when you can finally hold your diploma in your hands, the true culmination of your efforts during your university career.

We will explain why you have to wait a few months after completing your studies to receive your diploma.

Once the session 2 diploma jury reports have been validated, usually between July and mid-October, your future diploma is checked and, if necessary, corrected by the Diploma Department (regulatory checks, civil status, etc.) before being issued.

Your diploma is then recorded in a tracking database to ensure full traceability before being sent for verification and signatures:

– To the services of the Presidency of the University of Montpellier
– To partner institutions for co-accredited degrees (Montpellier SupAgro, AgroParisTech, Paul-Valéry University, etc.)
– To the Montpellier Regional Education Authority

If an anomaly is detected during these various control phases, the diploma must be recorded as an anomaly and reissued to undergo all control phases again.

All of these checks, prior to signature by the President of the University of Montpellier, the heads of any partner institutions, and the Rector of the Academy, take approximately 4 to 6 months. This may seem a little long, but it guarantees that you will receive a high-quality degree.

So thank you for your patience!
