Thanks to advances in neuroscience, it is now easier to analyze how the brain works and how we process and store information. Among other things, these advances make it possible to refine learning methods tailored to children, with the goal of helping students succeed in school.
Nevertheless, neuropedagogy raises many questions among teachers and parents, including:
– What is the actual contribution of neuroscience to education?
– Do the cognitive sciences provide teachers with the tools to evolve teaching practices so that every student can take control of their learning and success?
– How can we reconcile neuroscientific knowledge with the diversity of learning styles?
To discuss this topic, this Science Bar brings together three speakers:
=> Gina Devau, Ph.D. in neuroscience, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Montpellier. President of the Comédie des neurones
=> Bénédicte Gendron, PhD in Psychology and Neuropsychology, Professor of Education Sciences at Paul Valéry University
=> Nicolas Saby, PhD in Mathematics, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Montpellier, Director of the Department of Science Education and Educational Research
