Exhibition
"Spotlight on (in)visible biodiversity
Carried out by Frédérique Carcaillet (UMR MARBEC), teacher-researcher at the Faculty of Science, University of Montpellier, and museologist. This project is part of the NaturCom Chair of the UM Foundation. This exhibition for the general public will feature 3 main sub-themes, which can be exhibited together or separately.
Like an inventory, the first sub-theme of the exhibition invites the public to discover the species that are part of hidden biodiversity: species buried in the ground, nocturnal species, microscopic species, species that live in remote environments, etc. The second sub-theme deals with biodiversity inventories (protocols, tools, programs and expeditions), while the third focuses on the biases associated with biodiversity, including species representation bias, perception bias and taxonomic bias.
