Female students in the ICAP Master’s program at the Faculty of Sciences win the U’Cosmetics 2026 competition

Four students in the ICAP Master’s program in Cosmetic Engineering (directed by Ms. Véronique MONTERO) at the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier—Léa Bellot, Océane Mathevet, Anaïs Charroin, and Gabrielle Jeaneau—won the national finals of the U’Cosmetics 2026 competition, a leading event in the field of cosmetic sciences.

Their project, led by the Aisélia brand, focuses on the development of an ergonomic 2-in-1 cosmetic massage arm designed to make it easier for people with limited mobility to care for their legs. This innovative solution aims to improve access to hard-to-reach areas while facilitating the application and absorption of cosmetic products.

Beyond the project’s scientific and technical quality, this success fully illustrates the collaborative spirit within the Faculty of Sciences. The development of the prototype benefited from complementary expertise drawn from several academic programs:
=> An initial prototype was developed with the contribution of Clément Carta, a student in the Master’s program in Biomolecular Chemistry;
=> A second, more robust and optimized prototype was designed thanks to the expertise of Yvan Duhamel, an engineer at PRO3D (the University of Montpellier’s technology platform), in connection with prototyping and 3D printing activities.

The students emphasize the importance of teamwork, which enabled them to quickly bring their project to life and develop a working prototype to present at the competition.

This experience, which was part of the first-year professional project for the Master’s program, was particularly formative, both scientifically and personally. It allowed them to step outside their comfort zones, tackle real-world challenges, and carry out a project from start to finish—from conception to presentation before a panel. In addition to teamwork, the complementary nature of their skills and effective time management were key factors in this success.

Beyond the award itself, this project demonstrates our students’ commitment to proposing solutions that address significant societal challenges—in this case, those related to limited mobility and access to healthcare.

A tremendous success that highlights the quality of the education offered in the ICAP Cosmetics Master’s program and the ability of students in the Faculty of Sciences to innovate collectively.
