Education Career Track

The new Framework and Planning Law for the Reform of the French School System establishes the Higher Schools of Teaching and Education (ESPÉ), which, starting in September 2013, will organize teacher training at the academic level: The ESPÉs result from the collaboration between the Regional Education Office and universities to provide initial and continuing training for teachers in elementary and secondary schools, as well as for other educational professions (Principal Education Advisors, Librarians, etc.). In addition, the five universities in the Montpellier academic district are now pooling their expertise to provide this training (Master’s degrees in Teaching, Education, and Training—MEEF—and preparation for competitive exams) in partnership with the Regional Education Authority.

The Faculty of Sciences at Montpellier offers pre-professional programs at the bachelor’s and master’s levels. We are implementing a support policy for the “Emplois d’avenir professeur” (EAP) program and offer a range of courses to prepare you for the following careers:

Bachelor's Degree in Science and Technology: Pre-professional track in the third year of the bachelor's program (particularly in preparation for future teaching positions)
