An extraordinary meeting of the Council, chaired by Mr. Alain Hoffmann, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, was held on Friday, October 26, 2018, in the Salle des Actes at the Triolet Campus of the University of Montpellier.
The sole item on the agenda was as follows:a proposal to restructure the management team of the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier.
=> First, the Council members approvedthe end of the terms of office for the Faculty’s Associate Deans:
– Mr. Adam Ahmed ALI, Associate Director for Learning Development and Internal Resources,
– Mr. Thierry BRETAGNON, Associate Director for Assets and Finance,
– Ms. Geneviève DEGOLS, Associate Director in charge of Bachelor’s Programs,
– Mr. Frédéric LEMOIGNO, Associate Director of Innovation and Teaching Practices,
– Mr. Jean-Michel MARIN, Associate Director in charge of Faculty of Sciences – Research Relations,
– Ms. Valérie ROLLAND, Associate Director in charge of Master’s Programs.

A meeting of the Council, chaired by Mr. Alain Hoffmann, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, was held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, in the Salle des Actes at the Triolet Campus of the University of Montpellier.

The following items were on the agenda:
Presentation and Vote on the 2019 Initial Budget
The 2019 initial budget for the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier was presented by Ms. Isabelle Tournier, Associate Director for Finance.
This budget was developed in several phases:
– Meeting on the implementation of the Objectives and Resources Agreements (COM) for the University’s academic departments, schools, and institutes, on May 30, 2018;
– Technical meeting with the University’s central administrative departments, on September 13, 2018;
– Management dialogue with the University Presidency, October 19, 2018.
In total, the initial 2019 budget for the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier, which was voted on and approved during the session (
), amountsto €4,726,629 in expenditures and revenues.
In light of the 2018 budget execution by our Faculty of Sciences and the efforts reflected in the 2019 budget preparation, the Presidency of the University of Montpellier has decided to provide an exceptional increase to our operating budget. Furthermore, discussions are already underway regarding the resource allocation plan, which fully incorporates the specific characteristics of our Faculty.
Finally, the Faculty of Science Council conducted a “vote of principle” on the funding allocations for the Faculty of Science’s academic departments under the 2019 Initial Budget.
Voting on agreements
=> Approval of a service contract between the University of Montpellier – Faculty of Sciences – and Cévenn’Essences –
=> Vote on the financial contribution from the Montpellier Faculty of Sciences to the first“Sud de Sciences” sciencefilm festival–the contribution will be paid to the Kimiyo association, which plans to share its expertise in science outreach across various fields such as astronomy, robotics, physics, chemistry, biodiversity, and more –
