The role of the UFR council

The Conseil d'UFR is the body empowered to discuss and propose orientations relating to thefinancial(annual budget, subsidies, etc.), human resources(approval of job profiles, etc.) and pedagogical(academic calendar, agreements, etc.) activities of the Faculté des Sciences de Montpellier. Minutes of the Board's debates are sent to Board members and, once approved by the Board, are posted on the Faculty's website. The Board elects its Director for a 5-year term, andmeets once a year.

Members of the UFR Council 

The Board is made up of40voting members: 10 university professors and associate professors(college A) elected for 4 years,

  • 10 of other teacher-researchers, lecturers and similar staff(College B) elected for 4 years,
  • 4 representatives of administrative and technical staff(BIATSS college) elected for 4 years,
  • 8 student representatives and 8 alternates(USERS college) elected for 2 years,
  • 5 representativesof local authorities(Conseil Régional Occitanie - Pyrénées - Méditerranée, Conseil Départemental de l'Hérault, Chambre Régionale de Commerce et d'Industrie de Région Occitanie et Montpellier Métropole, Conseil Économique, Social et Environnement Régional Occitanie) appointed for 4 years by their respective authorities,
  • 3external personalities, proposed by the Councillors and approved by a vote of the Board. They are elected for 4 years.

Permanentguestson theFaculty Council, with aconsultativevoice,are:
- the Deputy Directors,
- the Directors of teaching departments,
- the Administrative Director of the Component and his/her deputies,
- the heads of departments and/or clusters,
- the heads of the University of Montpellier's research clusters or their representatives.

Power of Attorney

Voters who are unable to vote in person may give a written proxy to an agent registered on the same electoral list. To do so, the proxy form can be collected:- personally, from Mr Gilles Guévellou, Administrative Director, Mrs Béatrice Goujon, Deputy Administrative Director, or Mrs Sandra Gaucerand, Executive Assistant, at building 30 of the Triolet campus, Executive wing.Byelectronic means, enclosingthe principal's ID,by sending an e-mail toadressefds-elections@umontpellier.fr.Les Proxies may be drawn up from Friday,February 18to Monday, March 21, 2021, 12 noon. On polling day, the proxy must present the signed proxy form, together with his or her identity document (valid national identity card, passport, residence permit, driving license or CMS) and a copy of the principal's identity document. A proxy may not hold more than two proxies.
