Skincatchcolor: State-of-the-art chemical equipment

Véronique Montero, director of the ICAP Master’s Program in Cosmetic Engineering in the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences in Montpellier, extends her heartfelt thanks to all of her industry partners.

Thanks to their trust and contributions, the organization was able to purchase equipment for training purposes to assess the effectiveness of cosmetic products, such as the Skincatchcolor from Delfin (the world leader in portable skin research instruments).

This high-tech portable probe is suitable for a wide range of applications and ensures high-quality, accurate measurements.

Thus, acollaborative educational project centered on the Delfin assessment tools... was established between the students of the ICAP Cosmetics Master’s 1 program, Manon Barra, Director of the startup WAFE Care in Lansargues (a 2015 graduate of the ICAP Master’s program), and the HBF3M club, chaired by Céline Allègre.

This project was a natural collaboration, thanks to the involvement of the first-year master’s students and Laurène Baiget, an ICAP master’s student and National 1 player for HBF3M, who rallied her classmates, her coaches Manuela Ilie and Tiphaine Mennesson, and the entire team!

The students were tasked with developing cosmetics designed for athletes and evaluating their effectiveness using Delfin probes. The students established the testing protocols, and thanks to the probes’ portability, measurements could be taken directly from the athletes at their training facilities.

This project enabled the students to develop essential skills in cosmetics research and development and to become more competitive as they enter the workforce. The ICAP Master’s in Cosmetic Chemistry and Engineering regularly seeks out collaborative projects and real-world work experiences with industry partners to help students enhance their skills.
