Test Prep Support

Over the past 15 years, the Faculty of Sciences has expanded its support for staff members as they prepare for competitive exams.

Since September 2024, this support has been formalized and organized by the GAC division and members of the component’s management team.

On October 15, 2024, a summary sheet containing general information about preparing for the competitive exams was released; you can view it at THIS LINK.

Any contract employee who wishes to take a competitive exam may contact the GAC unit— fds.gestionrh@umontpellier.fr —and submit this completed questionnaire to request an individual counseling interview.

This interview will allow the officer to plan their study schedule and ask any questions they may have about the various exams.

Two preparation phases are then implemented: the review phase and the oral exam preparation phase.

If the officer requests it, one or, if possible, two mock oral exams will be organized with available members of management.

Contract with hourly pay

Student contracts at the University of Montpellier are specific contracts that pay a fixed hourly rate of €11.65, designed for students and offering compensation based on hours worked. These contracts allow students to engage in paid work while continuing their studies, with a degree of flexibility.

Pay under the CEE program is directly tied to the work performed, which means that students are paid based on the work they actually complete. However, these contracts impose a strict limit of 61 hours worked per month, to ensure that paid work remains compatible with students’ academic obligations.

As with other types of service-based contracts at the University of Montpellier, payment for CEE contracts is subject to internal administrative procedures , which generally result in a payment delay of two months after the service has been performed. This is due to the time required to verify the hours worked and validate the service before proceeding with the payment of wages.

Student employment contracts are commonly used for temporary assignments or specific activities, such as mentoring younger students, participating in educational projects, or other tasks compatible with student status. They offer students an opportunity to earn income while gaining professional experience in an academic setting.

In summary, student contracts at the University of Montpellier are paid on an as-work-performed basis, with a limit of 61 hours per month to allow students to balance work and studies. Payments are subject to an administrative processing period, typically 1 to 2 months after the work is completed.
