Student Engagement (Civic Engagement Track)

In accordance with the University of Montpellier’s Charter on the Recognition of Student Engagement (View the Charter) , the Faculty of Sciences recognizes and values the skills of students who engage in civic activities, particularly when this engagement aligns with the values we consider essential: humanitarian work, health, educational initiatives, solidarity, student life, college sports, etc.

This commitment must be substantial—that is, it must amount to more than 100 hours of work during the academic year. It may take place in associations—whether university-based¹ or non-university-based—within organizations (civic service, fire department, etc.), on departmental or university councils, and so on. It may also be recognized for activities carried out abroad or during a gap year.

•Students must submit an application by mid-October for the first semester and by mid-January for the second semester

• The committee for the relevant academic year decides whether to recognize these competencies: 4 ECTS, corresponding to a minimum time commitment of 100 hours

Recognition of student involvement is included in the SAD (Diploma Supplement).
